Dark Reserve (The Whisky Club exclusive)

A deep and layered nose, loads going on but harmonious. Deep salted brine beneath the layers of toffee, orange skins, roasted coffee beans, dates. Peat is present, but integrates into density of profile, and balances rich sweet fruit perfectly.

The palate follows with a complex-yet-natural balance. Sweet brine, brown sugar, nutty fruit cake, milk chocolate. Sweetness integrates with salty savouriness. Rich and full-flavoured in structure, with mild tannins and well-integrated alcohol. Everything feels natural and in its place.

The finish is long and lingering, with sweet brine and rich fruit cake.

A truly beautiful whisky and a proper special release. It brings together so many intense, moving parts to create something genuinely harmonious.
